Inside Policy Center

Policy Center

The Pew Center provides research, analysis and recommendations for federal, state, and international policies related to climate change. We bring together stakeholders, business representatives and experts on subjects ranging from technology development to design of sensible climate policy. These efforts influence our research and reports and inform our testimony before Congress.

While U.S. greenhouse gas emissions are continuing to rise, our research shows that addressing climate change will require

  • a fundamental shift from an economy based on traditional burning of fossil fuels to one based on more efficient energy production, generation, and use;
  • increased use of low-carbon energy;
  • capture and storage of carbon from fossil fuels;
  • as well as adaptation to the changes that are already taking place.

The following links provide a sample of our work on the steps needed in each of these areas.
